BME15518 - Conductivity Experiment Description This Learning Board demonstrates how electricity works by requiring a complete conductive loop to power a circuit. It includes a light bulb and four switches, allowing children to experiment with everyday objects to bridge the circuit. If a conductor is used to bridge the gap, the light bulb will illuminate. If a non-conductor is used, the light bulb will remain off. Children can even use their hands to bridge the circuit and light the bulb, experiencing the concept of conductivity while learning that the current is too small to feel. This hands-on activity provides a fun and educational way to understand the basics of electricity. Electricity is the most versatile energy source that we have. Lights, computers, heaters, telephones and even cars are all powered by electricity. This Learning Board teaches us that for electricity to flow around any circuit, a complete conductive loop is required from the power source through the output device and back to the power source. As a demonstration of this, a circuit containing a light bulb and 4 switches allows children to bridge the gap using everyday objects. If they press the button with a conductor in place the light bulb will light up. If they select a button with a non-conductor the light bulb will not light up. The human body is resistant to current, but it does permit a small current to flow through it. Using the board children can bridge an open circuit using their hands and it will light a bulb. They will not feel any electricity flowing through them because the current is so small. Product Dimensions: Size (cm): L:46 W:4 H:46 Size (inch): L:18 W:2 H:18 Size (inch): L:18 W:2 H:18
