BME14788 - Pipe Builders' Kit (80pcs)
Description
This Pipe Builders' Kit is available in two versions: a smaller kit with 80 pieces (BME14788) and a larger kit with 119 pieces (ME13064). Both kits contain a comprehensive selection of clear, rigid and flexible plastic tubing, as well as various components to build exciting and functional water chutes or ball runs. The kit includes fixing brackets with screw-in connectors, stop valves, bends (at 90 and 135 degrees), T connectors, a tap, pouring jugs, funnels, and five colourful balls.
The 119-piece kit offers additional components and is designed for constructing more complex ball systems. For a detailed breakdown of the pieces included, please refer to the individual component list beneath each kit code.
Using the Pipe Builders' Kit, children can create dynamic water chutes or ball runs and securely attach them to any STEM WALL. They will be able to design, plan, and build various routes, then observe how water or balls flow down the path under the force of gravity. The clear pipework allows them to watch as the water or balls cascade, navigating bends and T connectors in real-time. This hands-on activity provides a fun way for children to explore technology and engineering principles.
The kit also features valves that allow children to control the water flow�either permitting it to move or stopping it to see how the system backs up. This introduces young learners to basic concepts of engineering and problem-solving. Working in small groups, children will be able to discuss, adjust, and refine their designs as they test and modify their creations.
Extra Component:
A working Water Pump (ME13149), sold separately, is recommended to allow water to be pumped back to the top of the run, creating a continuous loop for further exploration and play.
