Description
This interactive Learning Board explores the sense of hearing in depth. Sound travels as invisible waves through the air, but these can be observed when sound vibrations hit the tiny beads in a clear tube on the front of the board. Buttons allow the child to explore different aspects of sound, including volume, pitch, and the variety of sounds we can identify, such as a dog barking, birds singing, and water running. The inner ear is also depicted, showing how sounds are collected and vibrations sent as messages to the brain for identification. When sounds become too loud, the board demonstrates the need to protect our ears by wearing ear defenders.
